COF-FR-0005Located in the fertile highlands of Kenya’s Nyeri region, the coffee produced by the Rumukia Farmer’s Co-operative Society, which includes 212 women and 248 men, is renowned for its dense beans and high acidity. The Tambaya wet mill processes coffee using the washed method, pulping the ripe cherries, fermenting them, and drying the beans on raised beds. The coffee is primarily made up of the SL34 and SL28 varieties, both of which are known for their complex flavours, including fresh citrus acidity, blackcurrant, berries, and a juicy, sweet body.
