Kegwa AA comes from the Kegwa Factory in the Kirinyaga region of Kenya processed as fully washed and is AA size. Kirinyaga is known for having rich volcanic soils and high altitudes, above 1600 masl. This coffee comes by way of the Kegwa Factory where there are over a thousand smallholders involved in bringing cherries to the factory comprising of SL-28, SL-34 and Ruiru 11. This one is tasting like lemon, cherry and blackberry with a juicy mouthfeel!

Bright and refreshing

Nice and acidic, the citrus and blackberry notes shine. Used different pour over brewing methods to either showcase the acidity on some mornings vs the roundness on other mornings. Beans were consistent and top quality.

The best one yet

Was kind of hesitant on the price point but it was worth it. Made me pause for a second when I tasted it. Definitely recommend 👍🏻

Clean and fruity

Excellent brew, loved the fruitiness but not too process forward. Will explore more Manhattan stuff!

Good but not great

I enjoyed drinking this but it wasn’t as expressive as I had hoped. Nice and clean. Medium-light body. Dark fruits but I’d say it lacked in the lemon/bright acidity department.
