Tasting Notes: Peach, Strawberry, Blackberry

This innovative decaffeinated coffee from Wilton Benitez at Granja Paraíso 92 in Cauca, Colombia, is grown at 2100 meters and undergoes a meticulous 36-hour anaerobic fermentation before being decaffeinated using the sugarcane (EA) method. The result is a surprisingly vibrant cup with layers of peach, strawberry, and blackberry, proving that decaf can be just as complex and dynamic as its caffeinated counterparts

Not my favorite but not bad

I bought this one about a month ago and have slowly been drinking it when I want something decaffeinated. In the meanwhile it's been resting in the same bag it was packed it. I'm finding that with EA decaf coffees like this one I pick up a lot of savoury notes and not so much fruit like the bag describes, which is interesting but not what I wanted. The fruit notes can be pushed forward a bit with lower temps and coarser grinds, but still there is a strong savouriness to the coffee. It's not for me, but I think some other people will enjoy it.
