Tasting Notes: Juicy Acidity, Blackcurrant, Redcurrant, Plum

Coffee Collective first sourced Kieni’s crop in 2010 for its juicy profile and complex acidity, paired with deep berry sweetness. Over the years, quality has consistently improved, elevating Kieni to the second-highest-paid washing station in Kenya. To enhance its vibrant acidity and distinct aromas, this coffee is roasted slightly faster than its espresso counterpart, resulting in a clean, energetic cup with notable sweetness. After being hand-picked, cherries undergo pulping, wet fermentation for 12-16 hours, washing, and are then dried on raised beds before being processed at a dry mill.

Bright and Clean

Prototypical Kenya beans, with a strong currant flavor and median acid. If you like the clean, acid, black fruity taste, this bean is a must.
