DAK - Milky Cake Filter (1kg)

Tastes like you are drinking a spiced cake. So good!

I started with the smaller bag before buying the 1 kg bag. I really like the milky cake myself but also brought it along to friends' houses. They also really liked it and one commented "it does taste like milky cake"! In saying all that, I can't recommend this one enough.

Classic. This is the bean that keeps giving. Perfect daily driver, subtle, tasting notes of cardamom, cake and a touch of sweetness. This is the bean that puts DAK on the map, and makes you want to try all their beans.

Milky Cake is one of our favourite coffees and one we always buy when it’s in stock - subtly spiced, not too acidic. A 1kg bag is also a big plus!

A dessert cup without being overly sweet making it an almost daily cup for us. Already purchased a second 1kg.

I look forward to my pour over of Milky Cake in the morning and savour every sip. A super smooth cup with sweet, nutty richness and cardamon tastes. The flavour keeps getting better as the cup cools so go slowly!

Besides many great things about milky cake is the variety of tastes it can produce: drinking it cold vs hot, with some sugar vs black, would make it completely different roasts. I also enjoy its espresso version (much bolder).

I have purchased this twice already and truly enjoy it as my daily driver. The flavour notes will blow you away.

This is my favorite coffee for my first cup. It is delicious and unique. It tastes like fresh roasted pistachios. I love it so much that I got the big bag!

I generally steer clear of these more highly processed coffees. I usually prefer tasting the beans and how they’re grown, rather than tasting the experimental processing. With that said, these are an exception!! I really, really love these beans. So much so that I had to come back and grab a kilo of them.

I tried this as well as the September Buttercream. The Milky Cake is more forgiving IMO and the notes in this are fantastic.

Consistency has gotten better in recent batches, and 8oz has been amazing at keeping fresh stock rotating through despite limited availability straight from DAK. Keep it up, 8oz!!

Dak Milky Cake is out absolute go-to. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of a foray into new flavor profiles and blends

I’ve been going back and forth between the filter and espresso roasts for home espresso - if you don’t mind a bit more acidity, I think the filter is the winner. Just too good

I’m usually into ‘out there’ acidic, punchy coffee but this is so unique and approachable to all.

This coffee is exactly how it sounds, so smooth without any bitter notes to it. I look forward to actually getting out of bed every morning to have two cups of this deliciousness.

Very strong notes of cardamom, definitely a unique experience when it comes to milky cake. So great that eight ounce brings in the 1kg bag!

I’ve been using this successfully for espresso, 20g in, 45ish g out. I get more cinnamon.

The product description is not an exaggeration. Although this is technically the "filter" roast profile, I still brew this coffee for espresso and it really does taste like a spiced vanilla cake. Pulling a slightly long ratio of 1:2.5 in 35 seconds to get a good balance of texture and clarity. The flavours really shine through in a cappuccino, as the milk further accentuates everything. Highly recommended!
