FELLOW Opus All-Purpose Grinder (120V)

I was used to grinding my beans with a German made (Zassenhaus) grinder for the last 15 years. While it was close to earth etc. it did not accurately grind my beans beyond pour over or french press. I have an entry level espresso maker now and was wanting something that could provide fresh grind for it. The Opus grinds amazingly evenly and easily provides fine enough grind for this espresso maker. I use a grind of 4 or 4.5 right now because anything finer and my poor espresso maker cannot develop enough pressure to drive the water through my puck, Many thanks to Fellow and 8 Ounce for offering this superb grinder. A small grinder perfect for my apartment. It fit easily on my counter and seamless into my routine. The most noticeable quality is that the opus is drastically quieter than my previous grinder.

Easy to use, does generates some static if cleaning is neglected, but it’s been fairly consistent for the price.

Really consistent and a massive step up from my previous grinder (a cheap false burr one). I have some small gripes, like the grind time, plastic components, etc, but for the price those are expected. I would rather have those issues than ones affecting the quality of the grind 👍

I was looking for a single dose grinder that was reasonably priced and capable of dialing in a espresso grind. So far the Opus has fit the bill. There is a little static that retains some chaff in the hopper but I have not had issues with static that others have reported, and I am not taking any steps to prevent it. Grind retention is not a problem, but I do tap the side of the grinder to help clear out any retained grounds. The magnetic catch cup that matches the portafilter diameter is a really nice touch that reduces the potential for a mess.

A bit of retention, a little tap will be enough to get them out.

This one is perfect as your go-to daily grinder. Affordable, quiet and slim profile. After over a year of use, it hasn't let me down. Go from the thickest cold brew grind all the way to fine espresso. Can't go wrong.
