Tasting Notes: Stone Fruit, Cocao, Juicy

Tasting Notes : Strawberry, Chocolate, Mango Manhattan Coffee Roasters has been working with DR Wakefield and Racafe to improve the quality of the coffee from Viani, a small town in Cundinamarca. This coffee is made up of coffee beans from over 400 small farm holders. The biggest collection point for Viani coffee is in Sierra town, where the wet and dry parchment is delivered, checked for quality, weighed, and priced by Joseel. Due to climate change, production in Viani has decreased by 50% in the last two years. Many farmers have multiple crops, and during the pandemic, income from coffee became even more important as the price of avocados dropped. Manhattan Coffee Roasters is looking at ways to improve the quality of the coffee, such as investing in greenhouses and processing equipment. Viani coffee has a big, rich, and slightly acidic flavour profile.

Solid

Maybe not as exotic tasting as some other Manhattan coffees, but nice classic cacao flavour

Great Espresso

Pulled as espresso. Good easy drinking with more "traditional notes" but obviously a lot lighter.

Cardboard-y

Unfortunately tastes very cardboard-y to me. Maybe it was a bad batch/baked, it was my first time trying this coffee.
