Tasting Notes: Watermelon, Honeydew, Green Apple

Produced by Elias and Shady Bayter at El Vergel, this decaf Caturra and Colombia lot undergoes an anaerobic yeast co-fermentation with watermelon. It delivers a wildly fruit-forward cup popping with watermelon, honeydew, and crisp green apple.

A touch too dark

I was disappointed in this coffee. The roast level dominates the cup, muting the aromatics, the acidity, and the sweetness. This particular origin should be juicy and expressive, but while it's nice it's not a one-note anaerobic flavour, it's unfortunately quite flat. Not a bad cup of decaf, just not very interesting.
