Rogue Wave Coffee - Rio Negro & Iquira Decaf
COF-RW-0154This regional decaf lot is produced by approximately 60–70 smallholder farmers situated in the towns of Tesalia and Teruel within the high-producing Huila department of Colombia. Huila is celebrated for its volcanic soils and ideal microclimates, which impart a characteristic bright acidity and deep sweetness to its coffees. This specific lot—a blend of Tabi, Castillo, and Caturra varieties—is decaffeinated at the Descafecol plant using the Ethyl Acetate (EA) method. By utilizing a natural solvent derived from Colombian sugarcane, the process removes 99.9% of the caffeine while preserving the bean's cellular structure and flavour integrity. The resulting omni-roast is exceptionally balanced and sweet, featuring fruit notes of mandarin and apple rounded out by rich caramel and grape
