Addisu’s journey in coffee began 14 years ago on his 17-hectare farm at an altitude of 2,180 meters. Thanks to Origin Land, his coffee is now exported directly from his farm and his neighbour’s farm in Udeye village. Lot #2 from Addisu’s farm was the standout offering of the season, representing the best of his washed Ethiopian coffees. The coffee beans were expertly roasted by Phil and Sebastian and subsequently processed into instant coffee by Hasty Coffee.

As good as it gets for camping

Would do in a pinch at home but this honestly elevated my entire backpacking experience, the anticipation of a good morning brew and sipping it in the backcountry was so great. Beats bringing the aeropress by a smidge just due to the space and prep ease

Love this format of coffee for camping

I brought a bunch of instant sachets including this one to recent kayak and hiking camping trips. Having these really helps to shave the weight off the backpack when hiking so I am grateful. I used to bring a grinder and aeropress for my specialty coffee on the trail but instant has saved me. Thanks Eight Ounce!

Surprisingly good

I didn't have very high expectations for speciality instant coffee, but since I couldn't justify bringing my gear on a camping trip, I thought I would give them a try anyway. At first, upon opening the sachet, I noticed that awful instant coffee scent, but when I actually tried the cup, I was hit with florality, peachiness, and a pronounced sweetness that got better and better as it cooled. It would have been nice if the roast were a little lighter, but overall, I'm really pleased with these. Would happily purchase again.

Convenient and quick to make and is made better by the fact that it tastes better than every other instant coffee I’ve tried.

Quite pleasant instant coffee

I love the branding and packaging. I found the powder to be easy to dissolve. This instant didn’t have any of the sanka-y flavors I’ve had in many coffees and was extremely reminiscent of a specialty coffee. Only reason it wasn’t 5 stars is because I thought the flavor the instant was based off of tasted restrained in a way similar to when coffee is under-extracted and was dominated by tannic black tea flavors- not peachy. I’d say it’s up there for instant options, I’m interested to try other Phil and Sebastian instant coffees.
