DAK seems to be pretty good with accurate flavour notes on the bag! for both this Natural Ethiopian and Peach Daze Washed Ethiopian I got from them.
Both very smooth with an almost creamy body.
I'm mostly getting Strawberry note, very fruity!
Very light roast and dense coffee but acidity is soft and juicy.
I like this one better than an Honduras Gesha I also got and Better than the Rogue Wave Kayon Mountain Shakiso (Natural Ethiopian) although that one was pretty decent too and a better value (bigger bag, lower price!) it was a little more developed (on the plus side it worked alright for espresso too!). I haven't tried this one as an espresso but that might be interesting if done right. Not sure I want to take the risk with such a small amount of beans though!
Used a ZP6 @ 4.5 and/or P64 with SSP MP burrs (around 6 aka 600 microns I believe) at low RPM slow fed, Preheated Ceramic 01 size V60, 204f slow/gentle pours, Lotus Light & Bright water. Cafec Abaca filters, Bloom 1 min 45ml pour, gentle wet WDT, then 2 pours. 1:15 brew ratio, used 12-14g. Worked well with slower flowing Kinto filters too.
I find Both DAK Ethiopians I got are very forgiving and consistent, I like coffees like this that are hard to make bad :D
I think one brew I went a little too fine and it was just a little bit of harshness coming through, but still not bad!
